    Format difference
What is the difference between a FAT32 and a NTFS hard drive? Advantages and disadvantages if any. I have 2 external hard drives - on each

    Thanks - George

FAT (File Allocation Table) is an older filing system based on the 8 bit DOS FAT.

NTFS (NT Filing system) was designed for the NT line of Windows. It much more stable with more capabilities then FAT.

Check out this sites for more details:

Or you can Google NTFS vs FAT and find lots more.
