    Silkscreen separations
I'm having an old painting from my grandfather and I want to make some silkscreen copies of it. The problem is that in four color process it looks like an ordinary printout like from any laser printer, even when I print it on canvas. I d like to print every color separately. Ive counted about fourteen colors on the painting but I don't know how to separate them on my computer and how I must print the films. If anyone knows anything about this process or knows a book about it, please HELP.

I'm not very knowledgeable about anything that you are asking. But, I do want to try to help you.

What I know about silk-screening techniques and processes goes back to the days when there were no computers. So, the title of your question made me think of what I knew 30+ years ago. However, upon reading your question, as far as a computer program is concerned, I did a search for the following words: making separations Photoshop. And, I found some sites where maybe you might find information that will be helpful to you. I hope that you do find information that is helpful to you.

The first two links are for different articles, even though the titles are the same.

    Dear Clough,

Thank you very much for your help. I ve checked the links. But there is no information on the exact thing I'm looking for. Most of these links refer to simple four color separation or six color separation for offset like printing.
    Thanks anyway.:o
