    Missed period
Hi, I am 22. My boyfriend and I used the withdrawal method and I'm 18 days late. I had my period July 14-19 and on the 31 I had brown discharge off and on until the 17 of August. Am I pregnant or what's going on? I'm also having cramps in my left lower abdomen. I'm scared.

How long are your cycles normally? If you are on a normal 28 day cycle you would only be about 8 days late. Either way, yes you could be pregnant because the withdrawal method is not a form of birth control, it is ineffective.
The only way to know for sure if you are pregnant is to take a hpt or go to the doctor and get a pregnancy test. Have you taken any pregnancy tests yet?

Take bekah's advice, take an HPT. You may be scared of what the results could be, but it is better to know than not know. If you are pregnant, you need prenatal care. Taking the test is the only way to be sure.

If you are not pregnant you can probably blame the problem on irregularity. Stress and diet can cause your period to be irregular. In some cases, the factors that cause irregularity can also cause you to skip a whole period.

Take an HPT using your first morning urine, or go to your doctor and request a blood test. :)
