I don't want to lose him.
OK, I am in the 6th Grade... we're both. I am 11 and he's 12. This guy I like asks me to be his GF... I know we're too young for this, I knew that. But I don't want him to feel I don't have any appreciation for him, or I don't like him. If I won't say yes, maybe, he'll forget me. And I don't want that to happen. Can you help me?

I need your advices... PLEASE... Thanks in advance. :) :)

It is good to know that you are too young and you don't want to hurt his feelings.

You can do what my daughter did last year when she was 12 and a boy asked her out.

Just say, that you are flattered that he likes you, and you like him too, but right now your grades are too important to you and you just don't think you are ready for a boyfriend/girlfriend kind of relationship yet. If you were, then he would be the boy for you, but you just aren't ready yet.

Just be honest, tell him the truth.

And again j9 hits the homerun here. Take j9s advice and if he truly likes you he will be there for you when both of you are ready!

I know that the boy who asked my daughter out is one of her best friends now. Heck my hubby even likes him quite a bit. LOL

Because of the way that she kindly turned down his affections he has a new respect for her as a person, not just another girl.

    Hello

Its funny you asked this question. I was talking to my daughter a few days ago about this, her son asked her how to handle the same thing and she told him what I told her years ago. Instead of saying Girlfriend say a Friend that's a Girl (you would use boy). So they sound more mature they said it was silly to use BF or GF because at their age they couldn't date or be that way anyway. The way they treated each other after that was as friends not like the puppy dog BF GF games.

I think that J_9 spot it... at that age, boys are rather looking after a self accomplishment and it doesn't matter with whom... (not all of them though) needless to mention that you are too young for that (good thing you know it), and you should rather focus on your studies, that's the asset you want to cumulate now... so do as what J-9 daughter's did, and I'm sure he will appreciate you and he will never forget you...

What do you mean though? Usually when that question is asked in 6th grade its more of a school thing where you never go on dates. If you know you are going on dates then you could say no because the age is a bit young. If its just a school thing its no big deal go for it. Also before anything you should ask your parents if you do decide to say yes before you ask tell him your answer.
