USB 2.0 not up to speed
    Hi,

I used to use a 4-hub USB port connected to a USB port and through it I connected my webcam and USB TV Box.

As I was working on the back end of the PC (I have a P IV system), I may have accidentally hit the hub and it shorted, i.e. the HUB was fried. The fuse of my AVR blew, the webcam no longer works and the TV Box smelled burned.

When I connected any other USB hardware to this port it would recognize it and say that it is a High Speed device and would work better in a High Speed USB (something to that effect), i.e. it was on USB 1.0 mode.

I opened the Device Manager and checked the USB controller and it seems that none of my USBs are now on an Enhanced mode. I went into the set-up mode and made sure that the USB was on High Speed but nothing happened. I checked again through Device Manager but it's still on USB 1.0 :(

My OS is Windows XP Pack 2.

Is there something that I can do to bring it back to speed? I'm not a techy so your help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

There is one thing you could try. Right Click on "My Computer" select "Manage"
In the window that pops up select "Device Manager"
    Find your USB Controller
    Uninstall the device
Then Right Click on the top icon which looks like a computer.
    Select "Scan for new Hardware"
Then reinstall drivers for your USB Controller.

Only do this if you know what you're doing though because you are messing with the hardware of your computer.
