Okay, I have this annoying habit of biting the sides of my mouth and after eating a bunch of chips with guacamole the left side of my mouth went numb and began to swell. It only went numb on the left side the rest of my mouth is fine. It has been about 12 hours and it is still a little numb and swollen. What happened?

Well, you were eating salt, acid (tomato), onion, vinegar (more acid), green chiles, and black pepper.

I'm guessing it was the acid or the chiles.

Don't bite the insides of your mouth. Or eat only bland foods.
