2000 jeep grand cherokee lardeo keeps stalling
Hi I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo and it keeps stalling on me. It will stall while I'm driving.and sometimes when its stopped... alot of times it don't give you any clue that it is going to stall (it was great when I was doing 70 on the high way in the high speed lane with someone tail gating me) and some times it will like slow down like almost went to a low gear then back up to were it was and then stall.. I have already had a tune up and tried fuel injector cleaner.(since once when it stalled it said I was out of gas when I had a half tank then went back up).. and suggestions on what it could be...

It sounds like the fuel sender is lying to you. Have that checked.

If the sender is stuck, you'll run low enough to cause the kind of hesitation you've described.

While your in the tank, replace both the sender and the pump, sometimes called the tank unit, new fuel filter, too.

Have the ECM checked--ignition control is performed by the ECM on your vehicle. 90% of these type of problems are electrical-related. Try replacing the ECM with a known-good computer.

I agree with CaptainRich and the txgreasemonkey so what I'm telling you is my personnel experience. I had a similar problem with my 1993 jeep. After a year of searching and hunting I checked the catalytic converter (it had been replaced about 2 years earlier because of rust) and found out it was particial clogged. I had a test pipe installed and my stalling problem was cured. There is a way to check if yours is clogging w/o replacing it. You may want to purchase a Haynes or Chilton manual for this year and read up on it. I went as far as to purchase a vacuum tester and a code reader from eBay. They have already paid for themselves. I did all the tune-ups and other parts replacing but in you search don't forget the catalytic converter.
