Patching large section of stucco siding
This window was installed by the previous owner, and obviously done wrong. Not much water-proofing to speak of. Anyway, the bathroom inside has a skylight, so I've decided to ditch the window altogether (complete remodel in progress). What are my options in terms of patching this wall up? It's the very back of the house and no one's ever going to see it, so aesthetics is not important.
I was thinking of just doing plywood siding, but I'm not clear on how to deal with where it meets the stucco. Maybe just slide some metal flashing under the stucco a few inches and over the plywood?
Should I bite the bullet and re-stucco it? There is very little room back there, so this would be a huge pain.
Any help/suggestions is appreciated.
