I have a vista laptop a Linksys wireless g router a canon ip3000 printer, I tried to connect a belkin F1UP0002 all in one print server to enable wireless printing, it said it's easy on the box I should have known better.
Tried Belkin they were about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.

What problems did you have? You don't need to connect the printer wirelessly to your network. As long as its networked you can print to it from wireless devices. You should be able to wire the print server to your network, then connect the printer.

What you are saying is hard wire everything the load software

No, I'm saying to wire the print server to the router then the printer to the print server. Then get the config from the server to determine the IP. Then load the printer on the PCs. Install as a Local printer but instead of using LPT1 as the port, create a TCP/IP port with the IP of the print server.

I have done what you suggested, or I think I have done what you suggested, connected printer, server & router went into printer props. Ports, TC/IP & put in server address but still no luck Question should I reinstall the printer software.
A printer window appears on startup & states printer is offline

Not quite what I suggested. Delete the printer and ADD a NEW one as a LOCAL printer. When it prompts to select the port, choose TCP/IP and enter the IP of the print server. When it prompts you to select the printer, use the Have Disk option (assuming its not a listed printer) and select the drivers from the disk that came with the printer.

Installing Network printers (TCP/IP) under windows doesn't make any sense. They have to be added as LOCAL PRINTERS. Arrgh!

Done everything as you suggested no go have given up sent print server back to supplier
