What is the best time to trim yorkie puppies talls?

Why trim their tails? Would you like it if someone trimmed your arm because they thought it looked better as a stub?

What exactly do you mean by "trimming"? Are you talking about clipping an overgrowth of hair or are you talking about clipping the tail off (docking) completely? If you are talking about simple grooming issues, then if hair appears unruly, trim it down if you want to. If you haven't done this before, take your dog to a groomer to avoid an accident. Most people never trim a yorkies tail hair back. If you are talking about clipping the tail off completely (docking) the answer is NEVER. It is an unnecessary and painful procedure and shouldn't be done. The only time this is done is when the dog is used for serious show purposes only and it is done when the pup is extremely young. Even then, I have a problem with the process. As happylady states, it is exactly like cutting off a person's arm, or any other part of our body for that matter.

I also feel strongly that if you had done the research required before you can be a responsible breeder, you would have found the answer to that and a 1000 other things you need to know. I meant that when I got my yorkies at 8 weeks, the tails looks like they were clipped about 1/2 inch. When my yorkie had pups last week the tails look longer than both parents. I just wanted to know if I myself needed to do anything while they were young pups.

No, it isn't necessary to clip their tails. If you purchased her from a pet store or someone who is just breeding them for resale, they aren't show quality dogs. So, there is absolutely no need to put the pups through that. If you need more info, here is an AKC link regarding breeding:

Tail cropping can cause SPINAL DAMAGE even when it is done by an experienced person. I saw a rescue site last week taking up donations for a dog that had been damaged due to tail cropping, It was not a pretty sight. Leave the dog as the creation intended it, It is perfect already. Please reconsider breeding your animals, We have enough dogs that are in rescue.
