    No Hot water at all
So I just returned from a weeks vacation to find some interesting issues in my home. Number 1 was a leaky pipe running from the upper floor which connects to the heating unit; number 2 is a [gas]water heater which seems to have shut down.

I closed the valves and stopped the leak. And relit the piot to the HWH. However, there seems to be no water coming out of the heater at all. The water is hot, but I have NO Hot water coming out of any of the faucets in the house.

I'm sure the closed valve is not the issue. I checked.

Note: When I arrived home, the eletrical to the furnace was out. I reset the breakers and it did the trick. The HWH is not hooked up to the furnace though, so I'm curious if there's a circulator somewhere in the HWH that needs to be reset as well.

I'm not sure if the two problems are related, but at the moment, I'm trying to figure out the hot water issue. Any ideas would be greatly apprciated.

    Thanks very, very much.

I'm not so sure that closing a valve on your water line didn't affect the flow from your heater. Did you open back up the valve to see if that helped the situation? There is no "circulator" or pump in the heater so that's out of the question. However, certain installations pipe the hot water through a heating coil in the furnace so shutting down the line could have very well shut the hot water down. Check again. Good luck, Tom
