    Shampoo/Condtioner
Can you use human hair conditioner on a long hairred dog? :)

My vet told me that dogs can be allergic to human soaps. We use shampoo and conditioner made for dogs, you can buy this at any pet store.

Kimberly, if you need a second opinion, only use products on dogs that are made for dogs.

I agree if you are going to bathe a dog, it isn't that much more to use something you can count on being safe for dogs.

I admit being on the fringe on this, but I seldom bathe my dogs. I brush them a lot, and don't give them, access to stinky stuff to roll in. As much as I have them out in public and monthly meeting with people responsible for seeing I give them proper care, if they had an odor problem, you would think somebody would say something.

Uh, yes you can, or could, but it would not be very good for the dogs skin, or hair.

I agree with all of you... I have a long haired daschund who is just beautiful, He is an inside dog and I do bathe him about once a month. Normally I have doggie conditioner on hand. I did however call a vet and they said I could use human conditioner just dilute it. I would prefer the doggie conditioner but questioned the thought when I ran out. Thanks for all your input. As I said, I agree with all of you and will be making a little more effort to keep doggie conditioner on hand! Have a great day!
