    Kenmore Elite washer
I have a Kenmore Elite sensor smart 3-speed automatic washer with catalyst that is about 7 years old. Over the weekend, it stopped draining and spinning. If I start a new cycle, it fills with water but gets stuck at the drain and spin cycle of the load with a clikcing sound. I checked the drain pipe and there appears to be no clogs at either end. Please advise.

Does this unit have the touch pad or circuit board? If it does, open console and look at back side of board and look for a burnt spot. If you see one the board will need to be replaced. Not an inexpensive componet. If it agitates but no drain/spin, also check your lid switch. You can jumper around it to test

Thnaks for yourt response. This unit is completely electronic and has a touch pad. I opened the console and could see any burnt or bad spots. How do I test the lid switch ?

Unplug unit and remove the console. Unplug the switch and check for continuity. If none replace. OR you can make a jumper wire to tie into the wires disconnected from switch and see if unit runs properly. If so, replace switch. Cheap repair. Remember to plug unit back in and close lid. Tape the added wire so you don't short something out. Look closely for burnt spots as they can be very small
