    Contact lenses/sleep
    Hi,
(didnt know what to put this question under)
I was just wondering if I can nod off with hard contact lenses in??
I am going on my holidays in a week and on the plane I will want to read but I will probably sleep a bit as well.
I can't wear my glasses anymore because they are blurry as my eyes have got used to the contacts.
I don't want to be taking them out either so please help!

You can but your eyes will be very dry and yucky from the plane ride. I always wear glasses on the plane because of this. Make sure you keep some eye drops on you and use them during the plane ride and after you wake from a nap.

And you should go see the eye doctor and get new glasses so that you have a pair that you can see with!

I am assuming that you have gone on your holiday by now, but I just wanted to add my two cents worth here.

I too wear hard contact lenses. I also have a pair of glasses that I can use for a back-up when I lose a contact or when one of the contacts becomes damaged.

Even though you can never see as well with glasses as you can with contacts, because the focal point for your vision is closer to your eye with contacts, it is important to have glasses in case something goes wrong with the contacts.

As far as sleeping with hard contacts still in - don't! I have before and it's not good! It can be very painful afterwards if you sleep with them in for a number of hours.
