    Girls read this
:( I didn't get my period for 3 months and I thought I was pregnant but I had a blood test taken and I am not. So I just kept woundering about it and left it alone, a few days after the 3rd month that I was supposed to get my period I began spotting and that went on for 2 day. Now hear I am 1 a month later and I am still bleeding and some times it is light and sometime it is heavy. I really apriciate it :)

I'm assuming you are a teen? Correct me if I'm wrong. Skipping periods and irregular menstruation is quite normal during the first few years after a girl starts her periods. You will become more regular as you get older. Illness, rapid weight change, or stress can also make things more unpredictable because the part of the brain that regulates periods is influenced by events like these. It's also normal for the number of days a girl has her period to vary. Sometimes a girl may bleed for 2 days, sometimes it may last a week. That's because the level of hormones the body manufactures can be different from one cycle to the next, and this affects the amount and length of bleeding. However, bleeding for a month isn't; you should see your doctor again about that. Most of the time, irregular periods are part of the normal changes that can happen when you're a teen. Good luck!

Well, irregular periods happen from time to time in woman of all ages as well. Yes, it's best that you see you doctor ASAP because the length of the bleeding could call anemia. Good luck and get to your doctor!

I am 20 now but I had this problem when I was 15 my peiod came normal for about two months then I wouldn't get it for four months but when I did get it I was sick with cramps and did not even want to step out of my house. I was put on birth control to regulate my period and ever since then I have no problems. It is good to go to a obgyn and get looked at I was scared to go when I was young because I did not like the idea but it sure beats not knowing when your next peiod will be.
