    Harbor Breeze Remote Ceiling fan
I purchased this fan about 4 years ago. The remote actually has a "REVERSE" button inside the outer fan speed and off button. I see that the newer models do not have this REVERSE button. I can not locate my instruction manual and do not know HOW to "reverse" the fan direction from the remote. Is it possible? Maybe I should ask CAN YOU reverse the direction from the remote?

If your fan came with a factory remote and there is not switch on the housing you should be able to reverse using just the remote. What model do you have?

This is a Harbor Breeze KEY WEST fan that we purchased from Lowe's in late 2002, model number is BTW52TW5LKRC. It is hanging in my family room from a 12 ft ceiling. The fan itself DOES have a "direction" switch at top of unit. But WHY would the remote (see attached photo) have a REV button if you still have to "manually" switch it on the fan? I have a Casablanca in my Bedroom that we bought back in 1985 that has an electronic wall remote capable of speed, light and REVERSE functions. Anyhow, I guess it is safe to assume that this Harbor Breeze fan must have some sort of circuit that has to be wired in order for the REV function to work on the remote.
Your thoughts please... I hate the idea of having to bring out the ladder every time I want to change directions!

    Thanks, Peter

That REV button should still work no matter where the switch is on the fan. It just reverses the direction no matter which direction the blades were moving. You should be able to get a new manual with Lowe's help. I'd definitely give that a try first.

If there is a reverse button on the fan then it cannot be reversed from the remote. Sorry.
