Hi its me again so I took some last advice by taking a hcg test really upset it came out negative. I came on what I think was a period early on the 9th aug but should usually start around the 13th it only lasted three days. So my question is ca you still be pregnant even if you have a period. Or am I just wishful thinking that I am pregnant. I had a iud (copper) put in three years ago and took it out in April from April I haven't been using any birth control and I still haven't become pregnant could the iud have anything to do with why its taking to long for me to conceive. I've not been thinking about it too much I've just bin haven fun in the bed room and not stressing is there something wrong with me? I feel really embarrassed to say this but I did coth Chlamydia at one point and took some antibiotics to clear it up and then when bk to the dr and they took some swaps and they said I was fine it had cleared up. They also gave me an internal scan and said my ovaries and tubes were fine there was nothing wrong with me id be grateful for any advice and comment thank you

I am sorry your HPT came out negative. The IUD shouldn't have anything to do with you not getting pregnant. You are able to get pregnant as soon as they are removed. Don't lose hope, it can take up to a year, maybe more, for couples to get pregnant. I am glad you took the time to get a scan of your reproductive system. That is always a good thing.

You only have about a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month. I know those odds are not great, that is why it can take so long to get pregnant. Just because it hasn't happened since April doesn't mean its not going to happen, it may just mean you need more time.

If you don't get pregnant within a year, you might want to have your significant other have his sperm checked :)

Since it was a copper IUD it shouldn't have anything to do with your chances of getting pregnant.(unless you had a pelvic inflammatory infection that caused major damage, which would lower chances of conceiving.) if you had it taken out in April, then it will have only been about 5 months now. This is not an incredibly long time to be trying. It takes most healthy couples up to 12 months to conceive naturally. After 12 months it is suggested that you visit with your physician about your fertility.
