On a 2003 Craftsman 20hp Briggs, the engine will not turn over.

Figured I left the lights on or key engaged - so I connected a Sears batterycharger with starting option on.

Nothing but a quiet click,

Battery charger appears to show the battery is charged - because there is no drop on the needle.

Kind of surprises me because there was no hard starting issues prior.
The tractor always started fast and right.

I turned the flywheel to see if there was a compression issue.

Now I'm pretty sure it's a solenoid or starter issue. So my questions are: How do I know if it's the starter or solenoid and is this a do it yourself?

Hi ,
I had the same problem starting and I put on a new solenoid and it started up. I had to jump the mower off the truck because my battery ran down.
