Hello, my name is cottle and I just received a letter for a wag garnshment from 12 years ago. My question is can they garnish my wages for something that is 12 years old, It was for furniture that was $450 and they saying I owe them $789. Can they do that.

Sounds like to me the sol have run out. In order to get a wage garnshiment there had to been a judgement Did you get anything or were you served with any kind of paper telling you to go to court? If you did receive a notice and did not go, the company most likely got a default Judgement and now years later they are trying to collect.

I never got anything to go to court, but I just received a letter that they filed in court to have my wages garnish.

File a MOtion to vacate the Garnishment, lack of proper service. This will start a hearing for you, and than you can Move to dismiss base d on the SOL
