I married a Cuban born who was deported back to Cuba by Immigration, I've been told that since he was deported my marriage to him is no longer valid, is that true?

Nope. You are married.
If you no longer want to be married, you can file for divorce. He does not have to agree to a divorce, and you can get one without him being there. The laws of every state vary, and I recommend contacting a lawyer to walk you through the process.
You'd probably need to get a simple annulment.
Thank you very much for answering my question Goldie May and S_Cianci, I thought so too, but someone mentioned that since he was deported the marriage was annulled.
Thank you both.
