    Ge squeaky dryer
I have GE dryer model #DWLR47ETOWW 3.5 yrs of age, was bought used, and the previous owner only used it 3 times. The dryer takes nearly 2 to 3 hours properly dry clothes and when you start up the dryer it starts squeaking and making funny noises, all of that stops after a few minutes but after 45 minutes the squeaks return and a bit louder, when dryer is finished after an hour , clothes are still damp and have to start process all over again.
I took the lower back panel off to check on the belt and found the belt to be loose and I cleaned out the lint that was attached to everything and cleaned that up and was told bearing may be gone, can anyone tell me how to fix this problem, thanks linda

As for as the drying time, If the vent hose is clogged anywhere from the dryer to where it exits the house it will cause the drying time to take longer. Take the vent hose off at the dryer and run a load and see if it drys in normal time. The squealing noise could be the idler pully or the rollers. I would suspect it to be the idler pully. This is the pully that the belt goes around. Many times you can put belt dressing from auto store on the belt to help with the noise but this is more of a temp. solution. Noise can be the drum bearing as well but I would open the back up and listen carefully to try and pinpoint the area where the noise is coming from. Good Luck
