I'm 13 yrs old.I've got glasses (about 1.5).I don't like going out with them & my mom don't want to make me contact lenses so I go out without them.Am I doing any harm to my eyes?

You are doing harm to yourself if you cannot see clearly you may end up injuring yourself in some way.

There is nothing wrong with glasses I wear glasses and people think that I look cute. If you feel confident when you wear them no one will tease you. And your mom is right you are too young for contacts.

Not wearing your glasses will cause you to strain your eyesight to see more clearly, which in turn could make your eyesight worse.

Since your mom won't let you wear contacts (and I wouldn't either, at that young), can you talk to her about getting glasses you like, that comliment your style?

The thing is that my friends have glasses and they don't wear them.I see without glases but not as clearly as with them. And some stupid girl says I look like a nerd and ugly with glases and I came to believe it :s

Sweetie, you said it yourself. She is stupid. You should just ignore stupid people. She's just being mean to be mean.

You probably actually look cute with the glasses, and she's jealous.

I have HORRIBLE vision. I can see up close without glasses, but need them to see anything more than 10 feet away from me clearly. My husband told me once that it was my glasses that made him notice me.
