Please, I'm designing Steel water tank ,the question (Is there any relationship between the diameter of the tank and tank height?)
For a cylindrical tank of a given volume the height must be inversely proportional to the diameter squared, since:
Is this the relationship you're looking for?
Thanks Ebaines, but I'm sorry It's not the answer..
What I meant is a relationship between the Height and Diameter(e.g Diameter shouldn't less than 4 times of the height), so Diameter=4 x Height... That's what I'm looking for.
So If I have a figure about diameter , for example diameter is 20m, so the Height would be 5.0m for a volume of 1570m3... otherwise, If no relationship I may choose 23.0m Diameter and 3.8m height to give the same volume... Thanks.
