    Burning vagina
    Hi

I have had burning and discomfort for 2 weeks in my vagina. I went to the doctor after 3 days and he thought it was a yeast infection and gave me one pill to take. It helped but the burning returned and I got a monistat pill to inject . Again no help. I went and got replens a insertion to correct the ph in my vagina, but still it persists. Does any one know another treatment for this burning with no discharge. I am 63 years old . I also had my urine checked and it is not a UTI, it feels more like an aching.

Whenever I have UTI's I experience this burning sensation as well. Did your doctor rule this out already?

You can use Vagisil for the time being, it will take away burn and itch. I would recommend that you pay another visit to your doctor, and tell him/her that what they gave you did not work. You should probably be checked out for bacterial and parasitic infections as well, as these can cause vaginal burning.

Like rank said, burning could be a sign of a UTI as well. Does it burn especially when you urinate? Is there any sign of white blood cells in your urine (in case you don't know what to look for, it almost looks like pus)?

Atrophic vagina after menopause. Had the same thing and thought it was a yeast infection until I went to a Urologist. She said the vagina walls become thin as we age and this can also cause repeated urinary tract infections. Once I started on Estrace vaginal cream, it was 3 years until I had a urinary tract infection or burning in the vagina area. Only after taking multiple antibiotics and my immune system went down did I have another UTI. Check with a urologist to find out if you have thinning of the walls of your vagina. Very common in senior women!
