I need help finding two movies I watched as a child (probably between 1984-1995).

The first movie I think aired on Disney. It involved a family of children whose parents had died. They had a woman caretaker but she did not live with them. They lived in some sort of big house. I remember every time that people came to adopt them they would scare them off! I remember they had a pet snake (constrictor) that they would use to frighten them away!

The other film was animated.. . maybe a TV show? It involved a witch who wanted to cut off a blonde haired girls hair because it had some sort of power.

I know the novel, but is there a movie for the same story?
