Ie doesn't work, but mozilla does
I have a problem with internet explorer (ver. 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158).
The problem is that I can’t view any site. They work fine with mozilla (ver. 1.0.6) but not with IE. It does not seem to do the DNS correctly. I have a cable modem with DHCP for IP address and static DNS. I set on the LAN connections from IE “automatically detect settings”.

I previously had a dial-up modem, and it worked with both mozilla and i.e. but now, with the cable modem only mozilla works. I kept the connections from dial-up. Could they influence the behavior of IE?

    Cable and IE
    Hi,
Have you tried calling your cable company customer service?
Please call them, and they will guide you through the configurations settings for IE.
    Best wishes,

'I set on the LAN connections from IE “automatically detect settings"'

Change this setting and make sure your connections are changed to NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION as this may be causing a problem.

    Press2Esc
    Fiara,

Consider this a "blessing in disguise".. ;)

However, if you insist, click on Tools > Internet Options -> Delete Cookies & Delete Files. At the [Security] tab-click Default Level; @ [Privacy]-click Default; @ [Connections]-click LAN Settings & uncheck/clear everything (esp Proxy Server); @ [Advanced]-Restore Defaults.

Note: If your lucky, it still won't work... :D
