    Bosch dishwasher will not drain
6 months ago machine would not drain; all impeller blades broken; fitted new motor/impeller unit; worked beautifully; moved house last week, installed machine in new kitchen; machine will not drain. Impeller blades all present, motor not sized. Only difference I can think of is that drain tube is directly into sink trap, rather than hooked into its own drain pipe. All thoughts gratefully received.

The drain hose needs to have a loop in it higher than where it attaches to drain line at.

Thanks for that, it got me going on the right lines and stopped me blaming the machine: turned out the previous owners did not have a dishwasher: the part of the trap that took the dishwasher drain tube, though it looked fine on the outside, had 18 years-worth of compacted fat in it. Mmm. Not surprising the poor old pump couldn't drain. All fine now. Great site.
