No way.
I would agree that there is probably no way that this is going to happen. But, I would suggest speaking with your probation officer about that. In general, fines, or any other fees, need to be paid off within the time frame of probation. If you were to be able to pay off your $23,000 restitution before the end of your probationary period, then I would think that you might stand a chance to get your probation period shortened. This is only a guess, though. But again, I would speak with your probation officer concerning this.
Probably not. If you're able to pay off the fine, that may be a different story.
The reason you are on probation is to insure that you pay the restitution. If you don't pay, you may face going back to prison.
You definitely have to pay the fine off before you will be released early from probation. They will set up a montly amount to be paid off by the time your probation is over. If you can not make those payment due to financial reasons, they will give you a reasonable monthly payment and you will make those payments or they can violate you. If you still owe at the end of the probation you will still pay monthly payments until it is paid. If you have any property they can put a lien on it and take it if you do not meet your financial obligation. Advice, Pay off as quickly as possible. They will explain all of this to you before you are released from prison. Good luck.
As a PO... that is a big fat NO WAY!!
