I cannot download picture from my camera even when using a card reader... I am running windows XP... help

Do you have proper drivers installed? If a window doesn't open when you insert the card then you might need to install the drivers, check whether there is a cd that came with the camera. If there is, install the drivers and software.

Can you details what EXACTLY you are doing and what happens when you do it?
