Rusted lavatory faucets difficult to remove
How do I remove my lavatory faucets from my sinks? The fasteners on the top side of the sink have rusted nearly off and seemingly melded with the brass. The fasteners on the underside of the sink are difficult to get to but, beyond that, are circular with several cut outs or indentations around the edge; like a threaded washer with small cut outs. The indentations or cut outs are the only thing you can get a tool to purchase on. Is that a special tool to do this? Do I give up and call a Plumber?

Take a flat screwdriver and gently rap on the rusted washer on top to disintigrate the washer. Use a light hammer, do not hit the bowl. If you have a cutting wheel or a dremmel you can cut the washer like slicing a pie and it will be easier to peel off.
