    Downloading Stuff
I was wondering if there are any programs that allow me to accelerate my download of stuff from the internet(i.e game demos) and allow me to pause and resume downloading on another day even if I shut my computer down. I can't really keep my computer on 24/7 for large downloads.

I used to use a program called download accelerator but I can't seem to really find it. So could anyone please recommend me one that is free. Thanks so much.

There are no real programs that can actually, speed up the connection for downloads, websites yes, though Firefox does have a pause and resume feature for downloading.

But Firefox will terminate if I shut down my computer...

I wan to find a program that allows me to download halfway, then shut down everything and resume from that same place the next time I log on.

    Is there such?

Yes, there's tonnes. Download Acclerator Plus which you mentioned can be found here. Another I recommend is MetaProducts Download Express which is found here.

When I was on dialup I used getright, didn't make it any more quick but could stop and start as many times as I wanted, take days if I wanted.
