Mild spotting is normal in early pregnancy, however severe cramping and clotting are not. When you went to the ER, you said they said it was too early to see the baby. Did they do a vaginal ultrasound?

I suggest paying another trip to the ER. They will take you more seriously if you make their lives hell (I know that sounds bad, but its true). Another option is to call your OB and let him/her know what is going on. An OB has a better tendency of knowing what is going on than an ER doctor.

Good luck and I hope everything goes okay. If you have to, go to a different ER and get a second opinion.
