Cats will usually urinate in one certain area. This area is usually where they smell their scent from previous expulsion of urine. The best way to keep them from going on the bed is to completely wash and sterilize all of your bed linens, and completely get rid of any smell that is present. If you see him trying to use the bathroom, put them directly into the litter box. Once that scent is present in the litter box, he should start to go there. Litter box training a kitten can be time consuming, but you have to make sure you keep an eye on him at all times so you know when you think he needs to go to the bathroom.

Try flipping over the mattress and going to a pet specialty store and buying and using a pet odor neutralizer.

When it comes to cat odors it is best to use a product specially made for this problem. Here are a few examples of some products you can use.

PetSmart - Shop For - Cat - Stain & Odor

Please don't punish her. Cats don't understand punishment, even if you do something immediately. She will only learn to lash back at you to protect herself, and it won't stop the peeing.

Simple Green is a biodegradable, non-toxic spray that is better than Fabreze. It does wonders on cleaning our litter boxes and stains from cat throw-up on the carpet. You can buy it at WalMart, Home Depot, grocery stores, Walgreen's etc.

Meanwhile, make sure you are using litter she is happy with. Our cats went berserk when we switched to a cheaper brand. I couldn't figure out why since it looked the same as the old stuff, but when I ran my fingers through it, it felt like a thousand little knives cutting me. No wonder the cats didn't want to use it! Clumping, scoopable litter that feels like sand is the best. Then make sure the box is in a quiet place but easily accessible. You may have to keep your eye on her at all times at first, and take her periodically to the litter box so she gets into the habit of going there. Or keep her in just one room with the litter box and don't let her have the run of the place unless you are watching her.

BUT PLEASE DON'T PUNISH HER OR HIT HER OR SPRAY HER OR SMACK HER!!

Keep the doors shut if possible to your bedrooms. Always make sure the litter box is in the same place and is scooped daily, with some cats they want it scooped out more than once. I have known cats that need to 2 boxes. You need to make sure that the kitten does not have a uti. I wash the litter boxes once a week with detergent and rinse with a vinegar/water combo. Also if you are washing your bed linens in bleach/amonia products she may be attracted to the odor. Cat urine has amonia in it. Something you can spray on your mattress to get the odor out is Urine gone, sold at chain stores for about 10 dollars a bottle. Follow directions to the max for it to be effective.
