    Car acccident with liability ins
My daughter was in an accident which was her fault, we had liability. The paramedics cecked out the driver of the other car and felt that she was fine to go, she had no life threatening injuries my daughter was just served papers for lawsuit. Doesn't the insurance cover this, do I contact the insurance or do I need a lawyer. State is California

You should have informed your insurance company as soon as possible after the accident. ** I will assume there was damage to the car.

Your daughter should have provided them with name and address of her insurance.

But yes, at this point, you want to contract your insurance company.

Submit the papers to your insurance company. They'll advise you where to go from there.

I used to work for State Farm. Insurance companies have their own lawyers. Subrogation is what it's called when there's a lawsuit. DO NOT HIRE A LAWYER. Contact your insurance agent and give as much information as you can. There will be a claims adjuster assigned to your case, and he/she will keep you informed as time goes on.
