    Radiation treatment for colorectal cancer
My mother, who is 87, has recently been diagnosed with colorectal cancer that has spread thruout her kidneys, liver, etc. The recent diagnosis has been confirmed with surgery as an option which my mother has declined. The Doctor has offered to send her for Radiation treatment.

My understanding is that her quality of life will be impacted to such a point that she will be bed ridden, for all intense and purposes, the rest of her life.

Can anyone provide some insight as to what to expect and what advise would you provide to help me help my mother to a decision (maintain quality of life over potential longevity?)

Is this EXACTLY what the doctor/oncologist has stated? I think the therapy will reduce the size of the tumours and therefore give her back some time and quality of life.
