    Depo-Vera and periods
I have been on Depo-Vera for 4 months and am still having periods. I know that when I started Depo they told me that I would continue to ovulate for at least the 1st month as my body adjusted to the Depo. Is it possible that I am still ovulating and could get pregnant since I am still having normal periods?

I doubt it... Depo does some weird things to your body. I have a friend who bled for 7 months straight. This shot does such a great job at preventing pregnancies, that even when you come off it, you can't get pregnant. You said you're 4 months in, have you gone back for the second shot yet?

I've had my 2nd shot but we are stopping because we are now wanting to get pregnant... when I started Depo it wasn't to try to avoid pregnancy, it was to try to stop my periods.

Even with only two shots, you may have a little while to wait before you can get pregnant again. Depo is evil stuff, and next time you want to make your period stop, there are other ways to do it that are less evil :)

I agree. It will probably be a good few months before you will be successful in conceiving. I also agree, next time try another form of BC. The doctors never tell women all of he side effects to this drug, and we have all suffered because of it. I can no longer be on any form of hormonal birth control because of my stint with depo. Many women here have also had problems. Good luck conceiving. If you ever need any help or just someone to talk to, we are always here :)
