If you are in the states the best product for lice removal is RID and it can be purchased anywhere.
As stated above, you will need to treat all fabric in your home, pillows, sheets, sofas, stuffed animals, etc. RID now has sprays for things like stuffed animals and sofas that can't be washed in hot water.
Just an interesting FYI, to help you feel a little better, it is known that children who actually get lice are the CLEAN kids, not the dirty kids. Children who wash their hair on a daily basis tend to get lice easier than children who wash their hair every other day.
For girls who tend to get lice, it is better to keep your hair in pony tails and spritz a little hairspray on in the morning before going out.
If you used only Mayonnaise, the likelihood of a re-infestation is actually very high.
