    Ice Maker not getting water
Hi, We have a Kenmore side by side refrigerator. We have the copper line going into the fridge, and get water out of the front. The ice maker is however not getting any water.. I can see the water level through the blue plastic tubing that runs into the ice maker and it is not moving.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    C

About the only thing you can check is a screen that is at the inlet of the solenoid valve that opens to allow water into the ice maker , in the water line is this valve, it will have two wires attached to it , turn off water and take the inlet water line loose and there should be a small pencil screen here, clean this screen. This valve should be in the back , follow the water line. Good luck. Mike

Thank for your help.. is the solenoid valve at the bottom of the fridge? There was a grouping of valves where the main waterline comes in - I wasn't sure if that was where I should be looking. I removed the line that goes into the freezer but could not tell if there was a screen or not.

Yes the valve is at the bottom where water line attaches. If you any only have 2 wires it is for icemaker. If you have 4 wires you have icmaker and water in the door. Like acetc mention, if you remove water line you should find a screen that may be stopped up from setiment. You can remove it and clean. Also if you have a voltmeter you can check it for 120 volts. You could also unplug unit at check the valve for continuity. Many times the valve will go bad and need replaced. Good Luck
