    Concrete slab
Hello, I am pouring a slab foundation for a shop. There will be a front patio and a sidewalk up against the slab. Should I have an expansion joint between them, and if so, what should I use? Is the fiber board sufficient, and how do you support the fiber board between the 2 slabs?

    Thanks,
    Mark

You got the right thing going there. To keep the fibre board fastened just use a small hammer drill and drill some 3/16 holes into your sidewalk and put some bent nails with a fender washer on when u nail the fibre board on just remember the fibre board is only to keep the slabs separate and that's all what u need to do. Hope this helps

I Agree With Rcfiddlerman, On This, You May Add Some Rebar From The Slab To The Porch, But You'll Need A 1/2 Hammer Drill To Do It
