Okay I'm 16 years old and I'm kind of worried about something.
I had sex with my ex boyfriend on July 7th. Well I was suppose to start my period on the 14th of July. But I never did. I'm not late for my period by 6 weeks. Because my last period was on June 16th. I just got over have a urinary tract infection like 2 days before I had sex.
I was on medicine too.

I started having these weird feelings about 5 days after I had sex with him. I get very light headed when I smoke. I've been craving ice cream like crazy, here lately my nipple on my left side is becoming darker. My breasts have been hurting not to the touch but I keep having sharp pains go through them. I've been cramping lightly in my lower abdomen. I've also had heartburn too, I never get heartburn. I've been very moody. I had my mother take me to get a pregnancy test at the doctors office and it came out negative. That was on 30th of July. Well it's the 1st now of Aug. I've been bleeding lightly. It was a very light pink too. Well I went to the bathroom about 10 minutes later and I didn't have anything. I'm just wondering if I still could be pregnant after all of this. My mother is waiting another week and if I haven't started my period we are taking another test. The nurse said the medicine I was on could have messed with my cycle. But that wouldn't make me almost 3 weeks late would it? I'm not under any stress at all either. I'm fine, this might sound pretty stupid, but I'm hoping to be pregnant.


If I could have something quick it would really help.

Get a blood test at your gyn clinic for an accurate pregnancy test result. And since you are not sure that you are pregnant, maybe you should put down the smokes

Hey thanks for the help.

Make sure to go to your doctor and have he/she perform a quantitative blood test; these are more accurate. The test performed on the 30th was probably too early, the hcg levels may not have been high enough. It sounds like you may be pregnant but periods can be irregular for a number of reasons. Have you been stressed out here lately? Good luck and treat your body as if you were carrying a baby, just in case. This means eat healthy foods, drink a lot of water, put down the cigs by all means, and take vitamins.

The meds can mess with your cycle for 3 weeks or more. The smoking with meds will most likely cause side effects like dizzyness as well. The pain/discoloration with your nipples and your cravings could be part of your menstration coming on. IF you are on birth control, some medications can interfere with the pill and make it less effective, so tell a doctor EVERYTHING you're on before you take a new med... even vitamins or asprin you might have taken.

Point blank, you are 16 and you have a few years before your cycle becomes regular. The sad part is, you MAY be pregnant at an age when your body isn't ready to carry a child since your cycles haven't even had time to become normal. Since you're smoking, you could be pregnant with an unhealthy child on top of it. Your mom is correct. Get another test in a week and see where you are.

My best advice for you: Wait until your healthy and stable enough to start a family. Obviously, you aren't ready to be pregnant yet, so for your sake I hope you aren't.

I would wait. Meds act different for everyone. What would you do if you were pregnant?

There is a very good possible that you are pregnant, but take it from me its not all that it is cracked up to be. I was 15 when I had my son. All chance of your childhood is gone. Not saying that baby's are bad because I love my son with all of my heart, but I do wish that I waited until I was older. I struggled through high school, because a GED isn't good enough now adays while holding down a full time night Job. 99% of the time the dad up and does his own thing because he still wants to be a kid. I went to college I had to take him with me. I couldn't go away. My mom booted me out and I was living on my own in the projects for almost 3 years going to school working full time at night and raising my son. You don't want to be a baby and have a baby wait until your older. Its so hard. Your friends say that they will be there for you, but they want to go out and have fun and hang out and you can't because your grounded home with a baby. You really have no idea how hard it is. Im not say this to be mean or a or anything I'm trying to let you know what I went though and how hard it is. I know you think your ready but believe me your not. I know I wasn't and some times I still don't think I am. If you need someone to talk about this with I've been there and I can help you out with what ever you need me to...

You said you were hoping to be pregnant with your ex-boyfriends baby. I don't know if that was a typo.. but.. I know someone that's 15 and has a baby and they are struggling like mad! If you are pregnant... and you want this.. way to go :) I want one too... but think about it, when will you ever get to be an independent adult? That's a long wait until they're like 20 when they move out... and by that time... you're in your 30s! You have so much time to be a mom, but you are only in your 20s for 10 years right? Take advantage of that time! Do something great with your life... And HEY! If you're getting in your ex's pants.. damn woman just ask him out :D... work things out!

I have three babies and from what doctors have told me and what I have experienced myself. I would say you are pregnant! So congrats! Having a baby is the most rewarding experience you will probably ever have. The best feeling in the world is having a baby!! Good luck girl! And take care!

I think crue_boo could be a little more sensitive! She may be a party animal and she may like her life but its her decision... aren't we just here to offer advice on the question?? She stated that she wanted to be pregnant spo that was never an issue with her. It is important to advise on all the different options but maybe she is ready to settle and have a baby as although it is a stressful and hard time it is fully rewarding and the best experience ever!
