OK so I moved in with my roommate a couple months ago and he's not on the lease, I am. We got the first 2 months for free and we have to pay rent for the first time 08/01/07. My roommate up and decided to move out the day rent is due with no warning so he doesn't have pay rent. That leaves me short with no warning, is there anything I can do about it?

Did you have any type of written contract with him... if not it is your word against his. However you sign the lease so you are overall responsible for the rent. You could try small claims court I think.
