    Compression or Soldered joints ?
It would seem to me that these are just a matter of personal choice, but is there any specific situations where one is needed above the other ?

Personal choice aside, compression fittings are not allowed any place that's not open to inspect and replace, for instance, under the slab, behind walls, etc. A soldered joint is considered to be structurally safer then a compression joint. Regards, Tom
