Have 96 altima that had key stuck in ignition key is now out but steering wheel is in lock position not allowing my spare key to work what can I do to unlock steering wheel.

I would take a stiff wire, drag across pins(wafers)while turning to Off, may have to apply turning pressure on steering wheel to relieve pressure.
