    Swollen vagina?
Hi. A few weeks ago one of my vaginal lips were swollen a little bit, it felt kind of hard but it went away two days later. Today I noticed it again, I'm not sure what it is, could it be an STD?

    Were you sexually aroused?

    Did it hurt?
Was it sore and felt irritated?

I ned further infromation-I very much doubt it is an STD.

It is Vulvitis (inflammation of the Vulva) which may be caused by many things.

    I was not sexually aroused.

It did hurt and it felt sore and irritated.

If I take a hot bath it helps the swelling go down but it's still swollen

How about internally? Are you tender and sore there? Have you had sex just before this occurred-or masturbated with an object?

Hot baths-no! For swelling you need cold and (if anything) about a half cup of salt in the bath.

I didn't have sex before it occurred, nor did I masturbate. It's not tender or sore internally. I'm not sure what it is.

Go to your gynecologist. The copay, if you have one, is worth the peace of mind. My guess is that it's probably nothing.

I have no money, nor do I have a gynecologist. No insurance either.

For swelling, take a cool bath with nothing in it! No soap, no salt! That's a sensitive area!

It probably is nothing, perhaps chaffing/irritation. Wear loose clothes and try to avoid extra contact with the area.

Its not an STD. But take a cold bath or put ice pack near that area. And wear lose clothes that way you don't hurt yourself more.

I have had swollen vaginal lips before but it was after one night rough sex.

And there is free clinics you can go to.Just look them up.

If lack of insurance or money is an issue many cities and towns have free clinics. From what I know they are usually quite good. If your town doesn't have one look around in the towns near you. Why not get a full physical while you're there? Lack of insurance in the U.S. is beyond ridiculous!

Shelby. You won't get an answer by responding to an old thread. Please create a thread of your own so our experts can address your problem. Thread jacking a five year old thread is never a good thing.

Hey does it look a cyst. It could be bartholin a cyst. It affects a lot of women. You will need to see a doctor and they will most likely prscribe antibiotics for you. If it keeps on reoccuring then it may need surgery. Please have it check. Hot watter does not help very much.

    You may need painkillers

    "thread jacking"
Why not close the old threads?

Because someone might search a topic and AMHD will pop up. The fact that it's old info doesn't mean it's out of date or useless.

Is this a response to you being advised you responded to a very old thread (2007)? https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/adult-...ex-124847.html

I find the policy on this to be confusing - I've been told I've responded to an old thread. Other old threads receive answers and nothing is said.

My understanding is that current policy is to leave threads open.
