    Dirt mound an Eye soar!
    Hello you,

I recently baught a new home that was inspected prior to me purchasing. During the first 8 monthsof living in the home I noticed some drainage problems. To get to the point I had to replace 80 feet of sewer pipe to the main(street). After all the work was completed I was left with a working sewer and a 80 foot pile of dirt that will not settle. I was told that it will take some time to settle but would like to expidite the process if possible. Any one have any Ideas? Thanks:confused:

Water the dirt and allow to dry for a few weeks before repeating the process. Freezing and thawing will do most of the work for you but this could take 2-3 years. You could shave off a few inches and reseed. Over the next 3 years you could then add back a thin layer every once in awhile.

This is just a suggestion, but have you considered renting a compactor and tamping the dirt down? Good luck, Tom
