Recording to vcr from "my recordings" on dish network dvr
I have a 622 dish network receiver. I recorded a program through my dvr and it is saved under "my recordings". I would like to make a copy of this program to a vcr tape so I can share it with my co-workers. I tried for hours changing my wiring around and cannot get it to work. I called dish network and they said to run a red, white and yellow cable from the back of my receiver to the back of my vcr. I have a red, blue and yellow cable currently running from the vcr to my TV. Regular vcr tapes work fine but I still can't get it to record. I have changed the TV from Video 1.2.3,4, comp 1 & 2 and the screen for playing a vcr tape but it doesn't matter. I know it is probably something simple but I am puzzled to say the least. Does it matter what I have my stereo receiver on that I use to adjust the volume etc. I have been putting it on VCR.

Red, White(blue), and yellow, go out of DVR into Red, white, yellow IN on VCR. Out of VCR
To TV with Red, white, yellow.
    Yellow---Video
    Red------Right audio
    White----Left Audio
The stereo can be off, once recording TV can be turned off,They have no effect.

Sorry, but I have the same problem. It doesn't record. Might there be a built in circuit into the DVR 622 to prevent copying copyrighted material?

I wrote in with the problem of trying to record to a vcr tape form my dvr and not being able to. I discovered that first I had my cables wrong, and secondly I needed to have my vcr on Line 1 and my TV on video 1. Once I changed these it worked fine and I was able to record immediately. Hope this helps!

I understand everything mentioned above but just one more thing. Will it work if I attach a second TV to the vcr to check if it tapes successfully?

FYI, I signed up and logged in but couldn't figure out how to get cleared to ask the question. Thanks

Make sure the VCR is set to Line or AUX when trying to record... it will not record if the tuner of the VCR is active.
