Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows Imparted
Warrenton, Inc. owns 80% of Aminable Corporation. On a consolidated income statement, the Noncontrolling Interest in the Subsidiary’s Income is reported as $37,000. Aminable paid a cash dividend of $100,000 for the year. How is the consolidated statement of cash flows imparted?

A The dividends paid to the outside owners are reported as a financing activity but the noncontrolling interest figure is not viewed as a cash flow
B The noncontrolling interest figure is reported as an investing activity but the dividends paid to the outside owners are omitted entirely.
C Neither figure is reported on the statement of cash flow
D Both dividends paid and the noncontrolling interests are viewed as financing activity.
E Both dividends paid and the noncontrolling interest are viewed as operating activity

Note: Now, with this one, I had difficulties with. Can someone pin point down further. The reading material and example given shows that the controlling interest income shows under operating activies and the dividends are paid out under the financing activity section of the consolidated cash flow statement. Therefore none of the above is correct, but I knew one was. So, it came down to (a) or (d). I finally picked (a). Is there anyone out there can show me that I am right or that it is different and why. Thanks

Wow! I cannot believe my eyes that no one is out there that does not have his/her own thoughts regarding this question. I figure that there would be more than zero out there that would be respond with confirmation of either that I was correct or I was totally off the track with my answer. I really am interested in knowing if someone else has come up with the same asnswer as I did or with a different one. Thanks!

Jeeze dude, give the people TIME to answer. The people who are here are here on a voluntary basis and may not be online at this moment, considering it is a weekend they may be doing things with friends and family.

Chill out. While we do not do homework for our posters it is clear that you did do yours and you showed effort. Someone will help you when they get online.
