To make a long story short my 8 year old nephew has been living in my care for the past 8 months. His mother lives in another province. His father dropped him off 8 months ago because he could no longer care for him and has never really cared for him. My brother (his father) and I had a verbal argument and my brother came and took my nephew. He took my nephew and is living in his camper with him. He has no intention on parenting this child. Before residing with me this child had lived in 4 different places and attended 4 different schools in 5 months while in his fathers care. I have a letter from the mother as she is concerned that the father is violent and has a huge drinking problem. Also staing that she wants the child to remain in my care not the care of his father. My brother is threatening to leave the province with this child. What can I do and if he leaves the province what do I do. I do have proof that for the past 8 months the father has had absolutely nothing to do with the child. I have proof the father is violent as well of that he has seizures from drinking. I live in Edmonton alberta canada. Pleasee any input would be great. Do you think that I have a chance?
