    Undisclosed that there were no permits for addition
    When I purchased a home it was not disclosed to me that there were no permits for the basement remodel. I was told I was buying 2200 sq ft a recent apprasial came back at 1400 sq ft because there were no permits they said what now?

    Hello win:

    If the original apraisal came in at 2200 sq ft, then you have a cause of action against that appraiser. You may have some claims against the title insurance company too, and the seller.

    Hire a real estate attorney. If you had hired one in the beginning, maybe this wouldn't have happened.

    Didn't you have someone check the county? That's a standard part of any home purchase.

    Now you are going to have to have a building inspector come in and approve the basement remodel. You can them sue the previous owner for any costs involved.
