    Dryer vent height
I need to put a 4" dryer vent through the wall in my new utility room. The exhaust comes off the dryer right near the floor, very similar to the one shown in this image: (only not on it's side)

My question is, at what height from the floor should I make my penetration through the wall? Is there a standard? It seems to me that it is not common to put it at the same height as it comes off the dryer. So therefore you need an elbow or some sort of flex ducting? Can someone tell me what is the common practice for this? Thanks.

No standard that I'm aware of. It can be at same height as dryer. Always the shortest run is best.
